Sept. 28 Mailing
For any of you who were looking forward to a mailing on Sept. 28 with additional information about the reunion, I am afraid it will be delayed because Charles and Bev Packard are currently in Texas. My sister, Dede Packard, lost her home in Hurricane Ike (it literally was washed away), so Mom and Dad went down to help out as they could. They also pulled their Airstream camper down to Texas as a temporary home for Dede and Denny to use.
Please be watching for the regular email on the 28th next month with additional information, and don't forget to leave us any comments related to what types of activities you hope we will have at this reunion. A couple already suggested include a Guitar Hero contest, and a Rock Bank contest, and possibly some type of Wii event or contest. What about karaoke? Other ideas? Pass them on.

Come for the Weekend!

Some of you may remember when a bunch of us would come for the weekend and camp overnight. We would have a campfire, roast marshmallows, and get to know each other on a much deeper level. We are hoping to revive that old tradition, for anyone who is interested. You will be able to camp on Dave and Andrea's land on Friday or Saturday night, and we have plans to have a campfire both nights. Andrea is also working on setting up some group rates at some hotels that are close by, for any of you who are not into "roughing it". We hope you will still come over on Friday evening and Saturday, however, to join in the fun at the pond.
Do you remember the bridge in this picture? I do.

Welcome to the Packard Family Reunion 09 blog!
This blog has been set up to provide information about the 50th Packard Family Reunion, which will be held the weekend of June 28, 2009 at the original site of the Packard Family Reunion, Newt and Florence's Pond, now owned by David and Andrea Packard.
This blog is also a location where you can ask questions about the reunion, provide ideas about what you might like to see or do at the reunion, and add some of the memories you have from previous reunions. Check back as often as you like to view the posts from other Packards. All are welcome to add their two cents worth.
For example:
I remember when the big treat for us kids was the Orange and Strawberry Crush in the glass pop bottles, and the ice cream "sundaes" that were the highlights of the reunion. What do you remember?
Also, please help us out by signing your posts, and "connecting the dots" for us. For example:
